Who Is Kalyan Padala?
Kalyan Padala is a reality television personality and former CRPF constable who won Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 in December 2025. Before the show, he was completely unknown outside his village and professional circle. By the time the finale aired, he had millions of fans across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana cheering for him.
He joined the Central Reserve Police Force around 2022, motivated by a desire to support his family and serve the country. He also had a long-standing interest in cinema and fitness, which made reality television an attractive opportunity when it came along.
Some reports describe him as an Indian Army soldier and others as a CRPF constable — both descriptions refer to his security forces background. He took leave to participate in the show. Once he was inside the Bigg Boss house, his military training was evident in everything from the way he handled physical tasks to the way he dealt with emotional confrontations.
Kalyan Padala Age and Date of Birth
Kalyan Padala age is the most common search query about him, so here is a clear, honest answer.
Multiple reliable news outlets — including Latestly, Deccan Chronicle, India TV News, and Republic World — described him as a 23-year-old CRPF constable at the time of his Bigg Boss Telugu 9 win in December 2025. As of October 2026, that makes him approximately 24 years old.
However, his exact date of birth — the specific day and month — has not been officially confirmed. He has not publicly shared his birthday in any verified interview. His family has not announced it through official channels. Secondary websites sometimes list estimated birth years such as 2001 or 2002, but these are not sourced from primary information.
For Bigg Boss 9 Kalyan Padala date of birth searches, the honest answer is: the year is approximately 2001 or 2002 based on reported age, but the full date is unknown.
If you’re looking for a specific birthday to celebrate, the safest approach is to follow his verified Instagram account @kalyanpadala881, where he may share that information directly with fans in his own words.
Kalyan Padala Village Name and Hometown
Kalyan Padala’s village name is Sundarapeta (also written as Sundarapeeta in some local reports), located in Bhogapuram mandal, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh.
After his Bigg Boss Telugu 9 win on 21 December 2025, his home village held large celebratory gatherings and welcome events. This kind of local reception isn’t unusual for reality show winners in India, but the scale of the celebrations in Sundarapeta reflected how genuinely proud the community was.
Vizianagaram district sits in the northern part of Andhra Pradesh, close to Vishakhapatnam. It’s a region with a strong cultural identity and a hardworking, close-knit community — and Kalyan’s story fits that background well.
Early Life and Background
Kalyan was raised in a middle-class family in Vizianagaram district. From a young age, he had a strong interest in fitness and sports. These weren’t just hobbies — they became the foundation for a military career and, later, for performing well in the physically and mentally demanding environment of the Bigg Boss house.
Details about his exact schooling or higher education are not widely documented in major news coverage. What is known is that he completed his studies before joining the security forces, and that he described his reasons for joining the CRPF as a combination of wanting to serve the country and support his family financially.
His brother Balu and his parents, Laxman Rao Padala and Laxmi, were a visible part of his journey on the show and appeared with him at the finale.
How Kalyan Padala Entered Bigg Boss Telugu 9
Kalyan didn’t walk straight into the Bigg Boss Telugu 9 house. He first appeared on Bigg Boss Agnipariksha, the digital pre-show hosted by Sreemukhi. This was a selection round where potential housemates competed for public votes to earn a spot in the main show.
Kalyan’s performance on the pre-show earned him strong public support, and the voting results gave him direct entry into the main Bigg Boss Telugu 9 house as a commoner. The season’s theme — “Commoner vs. Celebrities” — meant he was competing against established actors and public figures from day one.
Kalyan Padala’s Journey Inside Bigg Boss Telugu 9
Bigg Boss Telugu 9 ran for approximately 105 days. Kalyan’s journey inside the house was defined by a few key qualities that fans consistently pointed to: discipline, fairness in tasks, limited involvement in unnecessary conflicts, and steady mental composure.
He won captaincy at least twice during the season and became the first finalist by securing his spot in the finale before the other top-five contestants were decided. That early confirmation was itself a strong signal of where public sentiment was headed.
The other top five finalists in Bigg Boss Telugu 9 were Thanuja Puttaswamy, Sanjjanaa Galrani, Demon Pavan, and Emmanuel. Demon Pavan chose to leave voluntarily with a ₹15 lakh briefcase offer during the finale.
Despite playing the finale while dealing with an injury, Kalyan remained composed throughout. On 21 December 2025, host Nagarjuna Akkineni announced Kalyan Padala as the winner of Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9. Thanuja Puttaswamy finished as the first runner-up.
His parents and brother joined him on stage after the announcement. The moment became one of the most talked-about finales in the history of Bigg Boss Telugu.

“Pawan Kalyan Padala” — What Does This Mean?
Many searches combine the names “Pawan Kalyan” and “Kalyan Padala,” which can be confusing. Here’s a clear explanation.
Fans started calling Kalyan Padala by the nickname “Pawan Kalyan Padala” during Bigg Boss Telugu 9, comparing him to the popular Telugu film star and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan. The comparison was about personality traits — perceived heroism, calm under pressure, and mass appeal — not any actual connection between the two people.
Kalyan Padala (the Bigg Boss winner) and Pawan Kalyan (the film star and politician born in 1971) are completely different individuals with no known personal or professional connection.
So if you searched for “Pawan Kalyan Padala age” or “Pawan Kalyan Padala date of birth,” you were almost certainly looking for information about the Bigg Boss winner Kalyan Padala — not the actor.
Caste and Religion
Kalyan Padala’s caste and religion have not been confirmed in any verified public statement or major news report. His surname “Padala” is associated with Telugu-speaking communities in Andhra Pradesh, but a surname alone is not a reliable or appropriate basis for assumptions about caste or religion.
If Kalyan has spoken about these details in a verifiable setting, that information is not available in major media coverage at the time of writing. This article does not assume, infer, or speculate about either.
